Exploring Paramin: The Spice Village

Tour includes food and drinks, transport and guides.

6 Hours

The 1777 Cedullar of Population was a Spanish/French treaty that ushered in the arrival of white and coloured French settlers to Trinidad. The whites got the choice properties while the coloureds got the mountains and more difficult areas to cultivate. As fate would have it though, after 2½ centuries, the coloured estates are still thriving and many of the people still speak French patois. This historic tour gives us an opportunity to explore the treacherous mountain roads by 4X4s and join in the preparation of the harvest for the market. We complete our trip with a visit to Maracas Bay for a dip in the sea and the world-famous Bake and Shark for lunch.
